Argyle Johansen drop debut album on September 1 - live on 08.04

Bushwick based five piece Argyle Johansen continue to ride high on a wave of recognition after their first single "Sunny Day in Hell" was featured on the soundtrack for the Showtime series "Californication" back in 2007. More recently the guys have been busying themselves with their first full length record set to be released on September 1st. The self titled album will feature a series of smooth chill-out jams mixed with heartfelt lyrics and a bit of blues and folk. As far as musical inspiration is concerned, singer John Wentz tell me that, “For the most part, the songs on my album are all personal narratives (all auto-biographical to some degree) so I guess the answer would be me. The album is basically a review of some of the more memorable events and fulcrum points of my life up to this point.” Argyle Johanson are set to play with a full lineup August 4th at Local 269 and also at Pianos on August 25th. - Lindsey Lawless
