This week, Pastor Jin Ho begins a series on spiritual warfare entitled “Victors in Christ.”
The armor of God is available to us through Jesus Christ, and our potential to do anything comes from the power of God. This armor, detailed in Ephesians 6:10-17, includes the “belt of truth,” in v. 14, where we are told: “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.” God expects us to stand firm and not retreat. The purpose of the belt is to ready ourselves for spiritual battle. It is essential because it fastens all our armor and holds our weaponry. The belt is the foundational truth of God; and so, to implement this belt, we must understand the truth of the Bible. The truth must be in us. We must live the truth, walk in it. Knowing the truth is not enough. The truth will show our sincerity and the genuineness of our hearts. When hardship comes, this will test whether we are not just talking the talk, but walking the walk.
