RIP - Gil Scott-Heron passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital, NYC on Friday (May 27). The pioneering poet, musician, and activist enjoyed a string of thought-provoking hits throughout the 70s and was nicknamed the “Godfather of Hip Hop” thanks to his powerful lyrics on iconic classics like “The Bottle,” “Angel Dust,” and the spoken word piece “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.”

Special shout to OUT Rappers @INFINITE and @Artistbaron for taking the 2011 OUT Hip Hop Award (5 23 11) at LIVENation/Irving Plaza in NYC for the 7 Annual OMA (OUT Music Awards).
Special shout to Angie Martinez for hosting the Love & Hip Hop
reunion show (VH1), and to the entire L H H cast. WOW. That one segment had more drama in it than the entire season combined!
B! SO APPALLED
Special shout to Randy Jones, legendary member of the Village People who received the Heritage Award for his continuous support of the arts and contributions to music over the years. I was so appalled that the other members of the group couldn’t be bothered to show support for LGBT artists by attending the OMA event with Randy Jones.
Sidebar... Marsha Ambrosius was the recipient of the OMA Spirit Award? Really?
B! IMAGERY – Oprah GAY LOVE SCANDAL, as printed on The Globe, Venice Beach, CA.
Oprah recently said thank you and goodbye to millions of stans for embracing her daytime talk show during the past 25 years. I am guessing O's looking forward to making some bigger impressions; such as the Oprah Winfrey Network (O W N). I pray that she creates many opportunities for LGBT artists despite the many whispers that surround her sexual preference.
