After six years playing guitar and writing songs with southern rock group The Drive-By Truckers, the frontman from Alabama broke out to pursue a solo career. Isbell's new third album, Here We Rest, was independently produced and recorded with his band, the 400 Unit. In this session, Isbell plays live and talks about the extended rest period he took while writing this album and the down on their luck folks from his hometown who inspired the disc.
