Podcast Episode Summary
As the storing device technologies continue progressing, Users have more option and capacity
to store their valuable data. In the past time, Users have only 50 MB to 1 GB of hard disk to store the data, but now they can store up to thousands GB(Tera Byte) of data that can contains millions of photo or thousands of songs and many more.
Users are so worried about storing their data to a better place because no one can guarantee about their hard disk durability and at what moment the HDD will become corrupted or malfunctioned. As a result, User would have no longer any access to their memorable images or songs. These kinds of situations are so weird and pain full. But thanks to hard drive recovery technologies, which recovers all the important data from the hard disk in some most extreme situations.
So, if someone is having any hard disk that is corrupted or the important data in HDD get permanently deleted i.e., accidentally users pressed shift + Delete while deleting any important data, please read further to known exactly about how to improve the performance of your HDD and what steps can be taken to recover your data completely. Its strongly recommended to avoid doing experiments on the HDD such as freezing it, riding car over your HDD, hampering it etc. to test disk recovery limitation because every hard disk is having its own recovery limitation, in which after crossing the specified limit, there is no possibility of rescuing your important data at any how. Infrastructure:

Platter It's a circular tape created by using aluminum and fixed with spindle motor. Responsible forstoring the data.
Base Casting It's made up of aluminum and surfaced to hard disk which protects the hard drive from external dust.
Spindle Motor Spindle motor is small, fixed with platter and causes it to move circular. It's main aim to provide long lasting consistent power supply for continuous use.
Logic Board Logic board is the main source of read/write operation on the hard disk and connected to read/write head by a ribbon cable.
Read/Write Head
Image via WikipediaThis is the most important part of the HDD that enables the logical data which in the form of bits, to be written over platter in the form of magnetic pulses and vice versa. While reading the data from the platter. R/W Head can perform both the operation concurrently in some modern hard disks.
Tracks and Sectors Each platter is the combination of thousands of concentric circles, called tracks and each tracks are broken into thousands of pieces, called sectors. Each sector can contain upto 512 bytes of data. Often the combination of sectors is known as clusters in the hard disk.
Ways to Improve Hard Disk Performance
Each hard disk becomes older as the time pasts and start to respond slowly and can even fail completely. Well known reason behind the hard disk failure is mentioned below:
- Due to of bad sectors and blocks,
- Heated to peak point for using maximum resources that cause hard disk to crash,
- Failure of spindle motor which causes platter to spin and
- System shut down accidentally while the disk operation is in process.
So, its necessary to take some basic precautions to keep the hard drive free from any failures. Instead of this, User will also need to follow some guidelines that greatly helps to improve hard disk performance and speed as well. Such as:
Above mentioned steps are some of the common phenomena or ways to keep away hard disk healthy and free from any failure or crash.Limitations of Hard Disk RecoverySometimes after taking all the precautions, the hard disk will become crashed or corrupteddue to off taking it from bad manufacturers. So it's always wise to take regular backup ofall the data, but if not, there is still a chance to recover the data with 100% accuracy. Manynovices were start doing experiment on their hard disk such us freezing it, wetting it andstart drying it with a warm air in the hope that might their hard disk will start to work again. But these ways were not going to help you in anyway except to delete the remainingpossibility of recovering the data from the hard disk.Hard disk has a limitation in which if the hard drive gets completely corrupted, many diskrecovery experts/hard drive recovery companies will refuse to recover the data from thehard disk. Even many data recovery software would unable to recover the data. Sowhenever the hard disk stopped responding or become inaccessible, just properly shut downthe system in a proper manner and let the HDD to any data recovery experts, or digg theweb, and I'm sure you will find some useful ways of recovering your data. For more information about the limitations of hard drive recovery, you can check this:Testing the Limits of hard disk recovery( E6P96YE6MKQ4) Click here to play
