Podcast Episode Summary

The Sonata in B minor by Franz Liszt is not something to be taken up lightly by any pianist - even Marc-André Hamelin waited many years before tackling this major work of the literature. Liszt himself only ever played it privately for a few friends, including Brahms, who didn't like it much.  Wagner, on the other hand, was enraptured by it.
