Podcast Episode Summary
The Denver Broncos were 8-8 and limped into the NFL playoffs, but showed that anything is possible in the one-and-done postseason as they dispatched
the Steelers last weekend. Now, they get an even tougher challenge in the 13-3 New England Patriots.
Tim Tebow exploded for 316 passing yards
on just 10 completions, leading the Broncos to a 29-23 win over Pittsburgh in their wild card game – the most points Denver has scored since Week 13. Now, they will
face a New England team that averages that on a weekly basis.
On the same token, 300 passing yards is the norm for the likes of Tom Brady, who
will make his 20th career postseason appearance. Brady won three Super Bowls before his first postseason loss, which came in 2005 – a 27-13
defeat at the hands of the Broncos. Brady has not faced Denver in the playoffs since.
These two teams last met in Week 15, when the Broncos ran
for 167 yards and scored 16 points in the first quarter. However, the Patriots came back strong and finished with a 41-23 win giving them the benefit
of the doubt in the eyes of NFL football odds makers heading into this match.
They will need to avoid another slow start and shut down
Denver's running game if they want this one as well. Continue.. Click here to play
