Professor John Rush has been with us 3 times before, he was my first official podcast interview which became episode #2. He was also here a few weeks ago for the first ancient aliens episode as well as last January for episode #100 regarding his latest book The Mushroom in Christian Art.
John A. Rush, Ph.D., is Professor of Anthropology at Sierra College, Rocklin, California, teaching Physical Anthropology and Magic, Witchcraft, Myth, and Religion. He and his wife maintain a large herb garden where students and faculty learn about the cultivation and preparation of numerous medicinal and magical herbs and the myths that surround them. Dr. Rush is also a retired Clinical Anthropologist and Medical Hypnotherapist in private practice from 1972 to 2008. Dr. Rush’s publications include Witchcraft and Sorcery: An Anthropological Perspective of the Occult (1974), The Way We Communicate (1976), Clinical Anthropology: An Application of Anthropological Concepts within Clinical Settings (1996), Stress and Emotional Health: Applications of Clinical Anthropology (1999), Spiritual Tattoo: A Cultural History of Tattooing, Piercing, Scarification, Branding, and Implants (2005), The Twelve Gates: A Spiritual Passage through the Egyptian Book of the Dead (2007), Failed God: Fractured Myth in a Fragile World (2008), and his latest, The Mushroom in Christian Art (2011). His upcoming book scheduled for 2013 is titled God on Call.
