Pastor Jin Ho continues his sermon series on spiritual warfare entitled “Victors in Christ.”
We continue to study the “armor of God,” described in Ephesians 6:10-17, and this week we look into the ‘shoes’ we wear, based on v. 15: “feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” We call the good news “the gospel of peace,” because the barrier between us and God has been removed through Christ. Now we have peace with God and can come to Him without the burden of sin, which had caused us to be under judgment. Knowing we have peace with God is vital to our faith. Otherwise how can we stand against the enemy? If we are not living out our life in faith, we are still at war with God, because we not following but rather rebelling. The “readiness” emphasized in this Scripture passage refers to being prepared to move forward with the gospel. The gospel is our purpose of living; it is our motivation to persevere. Through the gospel, our lives are changed forever. Our lives are not our own, it is for God and the sake of His gospel; and God can use us to change the world.
