This year marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of western Pennsylvania native Rachel Carson's seminal book Silent Spring. To celebrate, Pulitzer-winning composer Steven Stucky has written a work to premiere this coming weekend in Pittsburgh. It's called Silent Spring. TAF's Jennifer Szweda Jordan speaks with Stucky, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's Composer of the Year, who's based at Cornell University.
