Podcast Episode Summary
The 2012 Cotton Bowl Classic features the No. 6 Arkansas Razorbacks and No. 8 Kansas State Wildcats this Friday. Only one, however, can come away with
the hardware, making it the latest in a long line of premier bowl matchups.
After impressive campaigns from each side, the only thing left to prove in the New Year is that one
is better than the other. Think you know how it will all go down?
Junior quarterback Tyler Wilson leads the Hogs heading into the match. Taking
the reigns this season, Wilson threw for 3,422 yards and 22 touchdowns against just six interceptions, although the Wildcats will look to exploit a
weak offensive line. Wilson was sacked 23 times.
Countering Wilson is Collin Klein, who's passing numbers pale in comparison, throwing for
just 1,745 yards and 12 touchdowns, but he did rush for 1,099 yards and 26 scores – both school records – which makes him as much of a
threat as anybody on the field.
Do not count historical matchups in this game. The last time these team schools met was an Arkansas 28-7 home
win on Oct. 28, 1967.
Arkansas is playing in its 12th Cotton Bowl, winning only three, the most recent of which in 2000. This is Kansas
State's third appearance, having split their first two showings. Continue.. Click here to play
