In an effort to close an estimated $3.2 billion deficit, Governor Ed Rendell last week proposed increasing the Commonwealth???s personal income tax. Opponents of the proposal say lawmakers can slash spending even more and that a tax increase will result in loss of jobs. Supporters say without an increase we face devastating cuts in education, health care and services for the most vulnerable. Marty talk to NATHAN BENEFIELD of the Commonwealth Foundation and SHARON WARD of the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center.
