Podcast Episode Summary

Here we are two weeks into the release of (Digital Domain) and I haven't yet posted another "Live" mix . This episode however is an old raw mix that I have dusted off from my compilation collection. It was put together in the year 2000 and represents a deeper groove of evolution. It was a milestone mix because it was the first set that I burned onto CD for distribution. It was also the first time I collaborated with Josiah Smith, my sound engineer and good friend. We had fun working in Pro-Tools to beef up the sound to give it that signature HOUSE roundness. Before this release, all my mixes were copied onto mixtapes the old fashioned way. Later in the year I'll post some of those old tape mixes of which I still have the DAT masters of (remember the DAT recorder?) It seems like ages when I used a DAT recorder to record my masters to. I don't have a track listing for the mix, but I know it contains some old G-Pal tracks, a Roy Davis Jr. track and some CASA del Soul Tracks you might like. This is one of those timeless sets that one never really gets tired of listening to. It is also the first mix that I managed to use on board effects in. I miss mixing on my Pioneer DJM-500... I still have it, but it is more of a museum piece at the moment. Anyway enough rambling... cheers! If you enjoyed the mix of this podcast: 1.
