Podcast Episode Summary
Xani Kolac is an emerging musician with talent to burn.
While many accomplished musicians come from a musical background, Xani admits to no musical influence from her immediate family.
After playing the violin for 13 years, shehas just graduated from the prestigious School of Music at the Victorian College for the Arts, a Faculty of Melbourne University.
Xani's chosen field is Improvisation, which used to be called jazz, but as you'll hear, her music is so innovative it's difficult to pigeonhole.
Andrew Kruger invited her into the SBS studios for a recording session with Taiko drummer Lara Vasilewski.
And in coming podcasts we'll hear more from Xani and also from Alex Pertout the head of the Improvisation school at the VCA.
