Major Media and Major Fears
The major media companies that many podcasters believe would promote new regulations for podcasting are Viacom or Fox. Much like these media conglomerates have done with previous forms of Web casting, they would have cause to create laws that need to be passed by Congress. This shows that media companies can put some pressure on politicians and get laws passed should they choose to do so or choose to get involved, which is the main reason people are afraid their involvement in this medium would cause problems in the forms of tightened regulations, laws, and provisions that would affect what can and cannot be podcasted. Once the bigger companies realize what a large market podcasting is becoming, they could bring more money into the podcasting market, but they would also bring changes.
