Make Your Podcast Heard

Comment on Podcasts, Forums and Blogs

Another way to help promote your site is to go out and do postings on other podcasts, forums, and blogs that are on topics of a similar nature to your own podcast. You want to make comments that are relevant to the discussion and include a link to your podcast’s website or location on the signature of your post. If the site does not use signatures, include a link to your podcast’s site at the bottom of your post. If you were doing a podcast on cats, you would want to seek out forums that discuss cats and do some posting there – contribute to the conversation, but provide links to your podcast.

This is an extremely powerful way to both gain traffic to your site and to improve your rankings with search engines. Search engines will see that there are links to your site out there on the internet, which will increase the importance of your website to the search engines because it is referenced more frequently on the Internet.

Guest on Other Podcasts

Just as you may use guests and interviewees on your podcast, you should talk to other podcasters and volunteer to do guest spots on other podcasts. This gives you the chance to mention your podcast and/or website. It also helps you reach out to a wider audience and perhaps gain more listeners – while simultaneously building up your credibility as a podcaster.
Network Affiliation

Join networks!

Networks can help improve the visibility of your podcast to potential listeners from all over the world. Networks are podcasting groups that have banded together for a common goal – making their podcast heard. These networks work together to spread the information about their podcast and helps each other by providing links for one another on their websites or small plugs on the podcasts themselves. A strong network affiliation can greatly improve the traffic visiting your podcast.
