Podcasting Format Using One Speaker with Only One Topic
An interesting type of format that can be used in podcasting is doing a topic focus. This type of format is where the podcaster will focus on a specific topic for, let’s say, a week or month. This type of intense concentration on a single topic can be very interesting to listeners. One thing that some podcasters do is to explore multiple aspects of a single topic through a series of broadcasts.
This can be very interesting for both the listeners and the podcaster because it allows both of them to deeply explore a single topic over a period of time. The podcaster can focus his or her research in the specific area and develop multiple segments relating to that specific area. The listener can then hear what is going on in that area and gain some very truthful and well researched information.
This format shows in stark contrast against a commonly used practice of the podcast that deals with random topics with no clear direction or focus. By instead focusing on a specific topic and exploring them in depth, then it is okay for the podcaster to change his or her focus from week to week. Listeners generally prefer in depth, well researched information over brief, random bits of information.
